Rachel Ombredane holds a degree in Flute Performance, a Diploma in Music Education, and a Master's in Musicology from the Sorbonne in Paris. Trained in classical singing in Paris (state Conservatoire), she later refined her vocal technique under Vania Boneva (singer with the Paris Opera Choir). Over the years, she developed a warm, smoky timbre that makes her voice instantly recognizable—often compared to iconic voices such as Whitney Houston for her fire and Sade for her elegance. Far from limiting herself to the classical realm, she has built an international reputation for reinventing the flute’s image—bringing it into pop, jazz, disco, and funk contexts through electrifying solos, irresistible hooks, and a uniquely modern sound. A passionate explorer of electro-acoustic experimentation, Rachel seamlessly blends her flute with pedals, loop stations, and effects, creating rich, layered textures that defy traditional boundaries.
