Backed by a solid rhythm section, Dave MacKenzie (Orlando Jazz Orchestra), Rex Wertz (Palm Beach Society Orchestra), and CFJS scholarship winners Daniel Bonnet and Tanner Goulet will perform pieces especially for four saxes – including selections from Benny Carter’s 1968 Further Definitions and Gerry Mulligan’s 1957 cool jazz/hard bop album The Gerry Mulligan Songbook – along with other sax-centric pieces and collaborations.
